Two separate boat crashes on the same day left three people with injuries, including one who became trapped under the vessel.

South Carolina Department of Natural Resources posted on its X, formerly Twitter, account that officers responded Thursday to a single-boat accident after a vessel reportedly struck a dock in Murrells Inlet.

One person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Video footage taken of the accident in Murrells Inlet shows that the boat crashed into the dock, trapping the person under the boat.

Lt. Charlotte M. McKee with SCDNR said by email Friday that the accident occurred mid-morning at the Murrells Inlet Public Boat Landing in Georgetown County, resulting in injuries to a bystander.

The person driving the boat was uninjured, McKee said. McKee would not say if the boat driver has been charged.

Later that evening, a boat struck a dock in the Intracoastal Waterway in Horry County, McKee said. It is unclear where exactly the accident occurred.

Two people were on board, McKee said by email. The driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and the passenger was treated and released on scene, McKee said.

Additional details of the both accidents have not been released.
