SC 21-year-old dies in crash. 6 were hurt – including one flown to hospital by helicopter
A passenger in a vehicle involved in a two-car crash last week has died from his injuries.
Damion Parker, 21, of York, died April 7, 2025, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, two days after he was involved in the crash that happened in the Aynor area, according to an email from Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The two-vehicle accident happened about 11 p.m. April 5, 2025, in the area of Nichols Highway and Barnhill Road in Galivants Ferry, according to a Facebook post by Horry County Fire Rescue. One of the involved vehicles struck a tree and rescue crews had to conduct extrication operations, the post said.
Six people were transported to the hospital, one by medical helicopter, the post said.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
