This new Myrtle Beach food truck will have patios and rooftop seating. Also, hibachi tacos
GringoNinja plans to bring its food from private events to Myrtle Beach area streets and restaurants.
Owner Ricky Lang said he wants to expand the GringoNinja brand and give more people access to its food. This includes a food truck and installing sushi bars in existing restaurants.
“More or less I did it because I feel like we’re leaving customers behind,” Lang said.
Now Lang wants everyone to be able to try his food. He designed the GringoNinja Food “Str-eatery” to have patio space on three sides of the truck, as well as a spiral staircase leading to seating on top of the truck. He chose to open a food truck over a brick-and-mortar restaurant due to lower overhead costs and the flexibility the truck offers.
GringoNinja started as a private chef service in 2021 but has grown to offer catering, cooking classes and in-home meal preparation services. The company has grown every year, with GringoNinja working over 1,400 events in 2024, Lang said.
“We’re setting it up as it’s always going to be changing. It won’t have a set menu,” Lang said. “The cool thing is it can be used for other things. It can be a bar or a coffee truck.”
In general, Lang said he plans on doing Brazilian-Japanese-Latin fusion, serving items like hibachi tacos and Brazilian picanha steak, as well as switching up the menu when needed.
Along with the food truck, GringoNinja has been establishing sushi bars in existing restaurants, including Mr. Fish in Myrtle Beach.
Lang is waiting for his custom food truck to be delivered but said he hopes to set up a permanent spot near the Garden City Pier this summer and attend various festivals in the fall.
