Update: House fire near SC, NC border kills 2. Coroner identifies second victim

After two people died in a Loris house fire in April, the second victim has been identified.

Jennifer Mishoe, 54, and Gene Mishoe, 53, died after a fire consumed their Armview Road home on April 7, according to an email from Tamara Willard, the Horry County chief deputy coroner.

The fire destroyed the house, according to a post on Horry County Fire Rescue’s Facebook.

EMS brought Jennifer Mishoe to the Loris Hospital where she died shortly after arriving, Willard said. Gene Mishoe died in the home.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a call in Loris at 9:10 p.m. April 7 the Facebook post said. The Loris Fire Department and Tabor City Fire Department from North Carolina assisted with the fire.

Horry County Fire Rescue will investigate the fire.
