Looking to get free ice cream in Myrtle Beach tomorrow? Here’s where to go

Tomorrow, April 8, Ben & Jerry’s is throwing its annual Free Cone Day celebration throughout the Myrtle Beach area.

For the 17th year, the Myrtle Beach area locations will partner with nonprofit Grand Strand Miracle Leagues, which offers free sports programming for individuals with disabilities.

Customers can grab a free scoop of ice cream from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at the following Ben & Jerry’s shops across the Grand Strand.

  • 1303 Celebrity Circle, Broadway at the Beach

  • 1200 Celebrity Circle, Broadway at the Beach

  • 2005-C Ocean Boulevard, The Breakers Resort

  • 2913-B North Ocean Boulevard, The Carribbean Resort

  • 10835 King Road South, Tanger Outlets

According to a release from Ben & Jerry’s and Grand Strand Miracle Leagues, they hope that each cone or cup will bring in a donation of at least $1, enabling the nonprofit to raise over $13,000 on Tuesday.

“Free Cone Day has always been about gratitude – we want to thank our fans for being the best fans in the world with free ice cream and a moment of pure joy,” Chris Lee, local franchisee owner for Ben & Jerry’s Myrtle Beach wrote in a statement. “This year, more than ever, we’re reminded how powerful those small moments of happiness can be. We can’t wait to connect with our fans over a scoop of ice cream on the most Ben & Jerry-est day of the year!”

One of the Broadway at the Beach Ben & Jerry’s, 1303 Celebrity Circle, will have local weather celebrity and WPDE meteorologist Ed Piotrowski scooping ice cream.

Free Cone Day was first invented in 1979, as a way for for Ben & Jerry’s to give back to their community in Vermont. It now operates in more than 35 countries each year, a release said.
