New York Yankees read letters from fans. This South Carolina resident was featured by one

A Myrtle Beach resident got a special shout out by a New York Yankee.

In a video that’s gained more than 250,000 views on Facebook, shortstop, Anthony Volpe, reads a text from Karen H. in Myrtle Beach.

“My great grandaughter from Indiana cheering for Volpe,” the text read. “She’s a fifth generation Yankee fan following in great Nana’s footsteps. Go Yankees!”

After reading the message out loud on camera, Volpe said, “very very cute.”

This one exchange was part of a longer video that featured players reading messages from fans.

Volpe’s first season with the professional baseball team was in 2023, his team bio says. He went to high school in Morristown, NJ.
