Discovery Channel filming episodes for upcoming show in Myrtle Beach area. Here’s where
A national TV show is filming at Myrtle Beach area campgrounds, showcasing camping along the Grand Strand for an upcoming episode.
“RV There Yet?,” a travel show on Discovery Channel, has been at Ocean Lakes Family Campground since Wednesday, according to Barb Krumm, director of marketing.
Kevin and Patrice McCabe, hosts of the TV show, are in the Myrtle Beach area to showcase camping along the Grand Strand, Krumm said.
“This benefits all the campgrounds in our area,” Krumm said. “The Grand Strand has so much to offer.”
The TV hosts have been traveling along the beachfront of Ocean Lakes, as well as nearby PirateLand Family Camping Resort and Lakewood Camping Resort, Krumm said. They are spending Thursday in Murrells Inlet exploring things to do, she said.
The trip is through the Myrtle Beach Area Campground Association, which has seven members. The couple will be at Ocean Lakes until Saturday, and then will go to WillowTree RV Resort in Longs, Krumm said.
The camping footage will be part of two episodes, which will air on Discovery in May and June.
Season 3 of the series starts April 6 at 8:30 a.m., “taking viewers along on a road trip to explore America featuring wild adventures, crazy detours, and campfire fun along the way” in their RV adventure, the website says.
“This will highlight, not just Myrtle Beach camping, but all there is to do along the Grand Strand,” Krumm said.
