A woman from Little River died after sustaining “significant burns” in a Myrtle Beach area house fire earlier this month.

Yvonne Edge, 71, died at the Doctors Hospital of Augusta at 1:15 p.m. March 15, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

A March 3 house fire left her with “significant burns.”

On that day, a house along Edgewood Road, approximately 1 mile west of North Myrtle Beach High School, caughton fire, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. At the time, EMS brought one person to the hospital with injuries.

Horry County Fire Rescue spokesman Tony Casey did not confirm if Edge was the person hurt or what caused the March 3 fire.

The Sun News has not verified whether the Edgewood Road fire led to Edge’s death. Horry County Property Records show the woman owned a home along Edgewood Road.
