Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a new ice cream shop will open in Conway.

It will be the second location for Cows and Creamery, which currently has a location at 524 8th Ave. Unit B in Aynor.

Allison Smith, owner of both locations, said the second location was “totally unexpected,” but was a “perfect little spot.”

That spot is the former Ward’s Produce, which was located at 5105 W. U.S. 501.

“I was just driving by and saw that it was empty, and it just looks like a great location,” Smith said.

The goal is to open the shop by Feb. 15. Smith said they will probably do a soft opening before then.

Cows and Creamery serves hand-scooped ice cream, sundaes and milkshakes. Flavors include traditional options, as well as non-traditional such as Jacked Up Tennessee Toffee, Key Lime, Michigan Pot Hole and Lemon Cheesecake.

The new location also will have an outdoor area that will have games.

This will be the third restaurant for the mother of three, who also owns Kosta Bowls in downtown Conway.

“(We have) healthy and a little bit of sweet,” Smith said.

Smith said she has seen customers come into Kosta Bowl earlier in the day and then at the ice cream shop later.

“At least you ate healthy in the morning,” she said, “now you can have some dessert.”
