Police and residents stand against crime at National Night Out events

National Night Out events are happening from Pawleys Island to Conway Tuesday as authorities and residents come to together in celebrations with free fun and food to strengthen their bonds and stand against crime.

Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman with Horry County police, said the purpose of National Night Out is to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, and to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and watching.

Horry County police will be holding their event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the M.L. Brown Public Safety Building at 2560 N. Main Street in Conway.

Conway Police Department officials will celebrate National Night Out from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Conway Senior Center at 1519 Millpond Road, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office authorities are holding their event 4 to 8 p.m. at Stables Park at 2400 Petigru Drive in Pawleys Island.

Myrtle Beach Police Department authorities will host the event at several different times and locations around the community including:

3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Sandygate at Sandygate Village

4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Target on Seaboard Street

5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Monticello at Monticello

Withers Swash Drive at Spivey Park

5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Palmetto Greens at Pool House in Palmetto Greens

6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

South Myrtle at The Pond in Seaside Village

6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Dunes at Intersection of Club Drive & Wildwood Dunes Trail
