A waterfront eatery in Murrells Inlet recently announced its closure without saying why.

Walter’s restaurant announced on Facebook that it would close as of Jan. 7, 2025. Located near the Wachesaw Plantation Club in Murrells Inlet at 1950 Wachesaw Road, the restaurant thanked customers in its final post.

“Unforeseen events have made it necessary to end this chapter, but the stories and joy we have shared will not be forgotten,” the restaurant wrote in its post. “Thank you to everyone who has been a part of Walter’s and made it what it was!”

The restaurant did not return a request for comment before publication.
