There is no shortage of breakfast options in Myrtle Beach.
From chains like Waffle House to the many pancake houses scattered along Kings Highway, it can be overwhelming to decide where to eat. Fortunately, TripAdvisor released its 2024 Travelers’ Choice restaurants, which includes seven breakfast joints.
Here’s what TripAdvisor named as the best places to grab breakfast in the coastal city.
Croissants Bistro and Bakery
Found near the Carolina Opry Theater, Croissants Bistro and Bakery, 8014 N. Kings Highway, serves Southern classics, along with French inspired options. This includes a croque madame — an open-faced ham and cheese sandwich covered with a cream sauce and eggs — and eggs benedict served over croissants.
The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Croissants Bistro and Bakery also offers pastries and lunch specials. It has four and a half stars from 288 reviews on TripAdvisor.
Drift
Drift, located at 980 Cirpriana Drive, strives to offer a luxury experience at an affordable price, according to its website. Customers can find breakfast staples like pancakes, eggs and bacon in the morning and seafood entrees in the afternoon. There are eight different mimosas, three different bloody marys and coffee for those looking for a non-alcoholic option.
The breakfast place is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. TripAdvisor named Drift the second best restaurant in Myrtle Beach and it has five stars out of 229 reviews.
Donald’s Pancake House
While Donald’s Pancake House may sound like it focuses on pancakes, the restaurant offers so much more. Along with the 11 kinds of pancakes, Donald’s also serves eggs, burgers and even gyros. There’s also Mexican specialties and various kinds of shrimp and grits, such as the New Orleans-style shrimp and grits.
The pancake house, located at 2600 N. Kings Highway, is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and has four and a half stars from 792 reviews on TripAdvisor.
Johnny D’s Waffles and Benedicts
With three locations in the Myrtle Beach area, Johnny D’s offers food for every mood. From funfetti waffles to the breakfast burger to a pancake shot, there’s options for the whole group.
Johnny Daskalis, the originally Johnny D, started a diner in New York but brought his operation to Myrtle Beach when he moved here. Daskalis died in 2022 but his breakfast reputation lives on with his daughter Jamie Daskalis now in charge.
Johnny D’s is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. everyday. Its earned four and half stars from 2,167 reviews.
Blueberry’s Grill
The Mediterranean-themed breakfast place has three locations found in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, North Carolina. Mediterranean options include the chicken sausage and harissa hummus avocado toast and the Mediterranean omelet. Blueberry’s Grill also serves food like blueberry ricotta pancakes and a jungle island skillet.
Bluberry’s Grill is open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Myrtle Beach and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in North Myrtle Beach. The chain has four and a half stars from 936 reviews.
Mammy’s Kitchen
Mammy’s Kitchen, found in downtown Myrtle Beach, offers up a Southern breakfast buffet while also giving customers the option to order off a menu. The diner has been around since the 1950s and continues to serve up breakfast foods that people love.
Located at 1010 N. Kings Highway, Mammy’s earned four and a half stars from 1,164 reviews. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. everyday, according to TripAdvisor. It’s currently closed for the season and will reopen on Feb. 14.
Cafe Amalfi
This Hilton restaurant offers a breakfast buffet and menu to order off of. There’s typical breakfast foods, like pancakes, eggs and biscuits and gravy. Cafe Amalfi, 10000 Beach Club Drive, also serves lunch and dinner with views overlooking the ocean.
