If you visited The Market Common over the holidays, you might have had more difficulty parking than usual because, since Oct. 9, the garage on Deville Street has been closed for construction.

According to an October announcement from the City of Myrtle Beach, renovations underway are repairing the structure’s support, removing a ramp, replacing the generator and more.

While there isn’t an expected date of completion, construction on the garage is set to wrap up around early February, according to the city.

“We don’t have a specific date for completion,” Myrtle Beach Creative Services manager Patrick Lloyd told The Sun News in a Jan. 2 email. “Renovations should be done in roughly one month.”

While the Deville Street garage is set to reopen, the Market Common parking garage on Farrow Parkway will close for renovations after construction on Deville finishes.

There’s no established timeline for the Farrow Parkway construction, either. However, Lloyd said renovations will begin after crews finish the Deville garage renovations wrap and should take “roughly the same amount of time as the Deville Street garage.”

Following the timeline of the Deville renovations, which started in early October 2024 and are slated to finish in early February 2025, construction on the Farrow Parkway garage could take about four months and conclude in June.
