This SC holiday light event among top in the country. How you can get a ticket to see it
A popular holiday event in the Grand Strand area is often ranked as one of the top events to visit in the country.
Brookgreen Gardens’ “Nights of a Thousand Candles” has previously made the list of USA Today’s top 10 holiday spots and now it has been nominated to be among the top 10 botanical garden with the best holiday lights in 2024.
Tickets for the annual event in Murrells Inlet sell out when they go on sale to the general public, and even when some tickets do show back up, they are quickly snapped up in a matter of minutes.
The event begins Nov. 30, 2024, and runs on select nights through the first week of January.
As of Nov. 29, there were still tickets available for Jan. 1 through Jan. 5.
If you want a ticket, your best bet is to keep checking the website. The one thing people shouldn’t do is purchase tickets off of social media, garden officials have said.
Last year, many postings on Facebook offered event tickets for sale, but they turned out to be fake. People made copies of real tickets and then sold them; however, those tickets will not be honored.
The holiday event has nearly 3,000 hand-lit candles and sparkling lights that illuminate the gardens at night. Visitors can walk through the garden displays. There is also food and drinks available to purchase and live holiday music.
The event this year will have more lights on the water, including candelabras and floating trees.
Tickets are $30 for member adults, $35 for non-member adults and can be bought online.
