This new restaurant in North Myrtle Beach, SC is a potato lover’s dream
Spudz and Saladz, a new restaurant at 865 Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach is celebrating its grand opening with discounted entrees this week only.
The menu features signature baked potatoes like the Surf ‘n Turf and the Philly Spudz, as well as customizable options. Starting with a base of a baked potato, wrap or salad bowl, customers can load up their order with meats, vegetables, sauces, cheeses and even macaroni and cheese.
The restaurant had a soft opening on Nov. 1 and officially launched its grand opening Monday. Through Sunday, Nov. 24 customers can enjoy spuds, salads and more for just $7.
Spudz and Saladz is owner Tim Wright’s first restaurant in the Grand Strand, but he traces the restaurant’s story back to Ohio in 1975. Wright owned Jersey Mike’s Subs locations around Columbus, as well as a restaurant called Gahanna Grill, where he first started selling his signature potatoes.
“I made these spuds, and everyone just loved them. So I’ve been in the restaurant business and that’s where it’s come from,” Wright said. “I just brought that down here.”
The North Myrtle Beach spot is currently the only Spudz and Saladz restaurant, but Wright has been approached with interest in franchising more locations in the Myrtle Beach area, he said.
“I’ve got some people that are looking to open more, so that’s where we’re at,” Wright said.
If you want to get your potato fix in North Myrtle Beach, Spudz and Saladz is open everyday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
