Grand Strand pizza chain to close permanently. A Charleston, SC restaurant will replace it
Old Chicago Pizza in Murrells Inlet will close by the end of November and will be replaced by a Charleston-based tavern, according to employees from the restaurants.
Bohemian Bull Tavern and Beer Garden is set to replace the pizza chain at 2859 S U.S. 17 Business, said Old Chicago Pizza manager Ryan MacDonald. Old Chicago Pizza’s last day will be Nov. 30.
Derek Renckert, a partner of Bohemian Bull, said he expects the restaurant to open in the first half of 2025. The Bohemian Bull started in Charleston but has begun franchising in the southeast, including Texas, Florida and other South Carolina cities.
The Murrells Inlet location will be one of several Bohemian Bull franchises opening in 2025, Renckert said. The new restaurant will try to retain staff from Old Chicago Pizza.
Bohemian Bull Tavern serves typical bar food, such as wings, burgers and wraps with a classy twist. There are also signature cocktails and craft beers for customers to order.
