Over 1,100 people without power after a dump truck crashes outside Conway, SC
More than 1,400 people lost power Monday afternoon after a dump truck overturned and crashed into electric poles outside Conway, according to Horry Electric Cooperative Spokesperson Jennifer Cummings and Horry County Fire Rescue.
Nearly 400 people had their power restored after the accident, but as of 3:47 p.m., over 1,100 people were without power, and Cummings is unsure when it will be restored. Crews will take at least four hours to replace the electric poles after first responders have cleared the area.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. near Juniper Bay Road and Delayna Court, according to a Facebook post by Horry County Fire Rescue. One person was hurt in the crash and sent to the hospital.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
