Motorcyclist dies in accident near North Myrtle Beach, SC, state highway patrol said

A motorcyclist died Sunday evening after they ran off the road and hit a guardrail outside of North Myrtle Beach, said Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The person was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on S.C. 9 near Rum Bluff Boulevard when they drove off the road to the right and into a guardrail, Glover said. The accident happened at 6:46 p.m. on Oct. 21.

The driver was transported to the hospital where they later died.

The name of the victim has not yet been released by the Horry County Coroner’s Office. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
