Terrance Butler has operated ESA Fitness Center for about 13 years.

The sports performance trainer and Horry County native was one of the first businesses to locate in Myrtle Beach’s Arts and Innovation District, which has continued to grow over the years.

Now, Butler is growing with it.

He is expanding his fitness business to add Vital Smoothie Cafe, 515 9th Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach. It’s all a part of Butler’s efforts to make people healthier. He is hoping to open by Nov. 1.

The cafe will have smoothies, acai bowls, egg white wraps, sandwiches and other healthy food options.

It will be located inside the fitness center but will be open to the public with two entrances for access, Butler said.

Butler has expanded into a neighboring part of the building, redeveloping the area to have a kitchen, bar area and a nook cafe. Customers can sit down to eat or take it to go.

“It’s going to be cool,” Butler said.
