Surfside Beach, SC store damaged in an overnight hit and run. What we know about it
An oddities shop in Surfside Beach is looking for answers after a car ran into the store and drove away overnight.
Fisher’s Finds Curiosity Shop, 810 U.S. 17 Business, shared pictures Tuesday morning of the beat-up shop, saying someone drove into a store window and left overnight. Surfside Beach Police Admin Tanika Parson said she did not know about the incident, and Police Chief Kenny Davis did not return a request to comment before publication.
No one was hurt in the accident.
The window and parts of the brick wall that were holding it in have been destroyed. According to its Facebook page, the shop put a piece of wood over the hole and will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Tuesday “sip and shop” will also still happen from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with wine and snacks available, said Kerri Duggan, wife of owner Dana Duggan, in a Facebook message.
The family is asking people who know anything to send information to the Surfside Beach Police Department.
“It’s devastating because we’ve worked really hard as new owners of the shop. We bought it in February and have turned the place into something of our own and then this happens,” said Kerri Duggan.
