Update: Myrtle Beach Bike Rally attendee dies in motorcycle crash, coroner names man
A motorcyclist has died after an accident Friday while attending the Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Harry Sealey, 54, was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson on the S.C. 31 ramp on S.C. 707 north when he ran off the road and struck an embankment, said Cpl. Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 8:36 p.m. Friday.
Sealey was taken to the Grand Strand Medical Center where he died from blunt force injuries around 9:25 p.m., Willard said.
Sealey had come from Lumberton to attend to Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally, which brings thousands of bikers to the area. It runs through Sunday, Oct. 6.
One passenger was transported to a hospital with injuries. The passenger’s condition was not released.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the crash and the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
