Lanes of traffic on U.S. 501 in the Carolina Forest area are blocked Thursday as crews work to clean up what appears to be greasy chicken.

Horry County Fire Rescue posted on Facebook that motorists should avoid the area of Highway 501 at Legends Drive as lanes of traffic heading toward Myrtle Beach are blocked due to a debris pile in the roadway. The debris is reported to be a large amount of greasy, cooked chicken.

Crews responded at 2:50 p.m.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is assisting.
