An Horry County woman who became entangled in pool noodles and was injured while at a Myrtle Beach area Dollar Tree is now suing the business.

An email sent to the company’s headquarters was not immediately returned.

Lisa Price claims that she was at the store located at 1390 S. Commons Drive on Jan. 17, 2024, and was looking at a Valentine’s Day card display at the front of the store.

She bent over to look at some cards and as she was standing back up, she became entangled in a separate display of pool noodles causing her to slip and “violently” hit her head, the suit said. Price suffered serious and significant injuries from the fall. She lost consciousness and was eventually transported to the hospital, the suit said.

The suit filed on Sept. 24, 2024, claims that Dollar Tree had a duty to “avoid creating hazardous” conditions and directing customers into hazardous conditions.

The box of pool noodles across from the Valentines Day display impeded the aisle and did not offer a clear walkway, the suit said.

The suit is seeking damages by a jury trial.
