Vote for The Sun News’ high school football Player of the Week: Sept. 23 poll
With fall slowly coming into effect throughout the Myrtle Beach area, the familiar sights and sounds of high school football have fully returned.
Student-athletes are showcasing their talents on Friday nights, and The Sun News is highlighting the talents of Horry and Georgetown County athletes for Week Four of the South Carolina High School League season.
Interested voters have until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, to cast their ballot. Results will be posted on The Sun News’ website and Ben Morse’s X, formerly known as Twitter account, Friday, Sept. 20, 2024.
This poll is not scientific but an opportunity to highlight the talented athletes across the Myrtle Beach area.
Here are the Myrtle Beach area Player of the Week nominees
Zaireon Skinner, Running Back, Waccamaw High School: The senior player finished Waccamaw’s 30-27 loss to crosstown rival Andrews High School with 118 yards on 10 carries for three touchdowns.
AJ Lee, Running Back, Andrews High School: The junior runner finished Andrews’ win against Waccamaw with 18 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown. Lee also had an 85-yard kickoff return touchdown, concluding the game with 141 kickoff return yards.
