Update: Pedestrian who died after being struck by vehicle in Carolina Forest area named

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Carolina Forest in the Myrtle Beach area.
Richard Anderson, 63, of Conway, was hit as he attempted to cross International Drive, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard. He was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he died from traumatic injuries.
The accident happened about 5:56 a.m. Friday on International Drive near Market Place Drive, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian was hit by a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. The two people who were in the vehicle were not injured.
The accident had eastbound lanes of traffic blocked while rescue crews responded, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.
