A driver involved in a five-vehicle crash has died — two days after the accident that occurred in the Myrtle Beach area.

William Jacobsson, 81, died Aug. 30, 2024, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries he received in the accident, according to an email from Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

The accident happened at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, on Carolina Forest Boulevard near Southgate Parkway, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
