The Myrtle Beach State Park Pier will shut down starting June 24 until repairs are completed, which is estimated to be about three weeks, Park Ranger Ann Wilson said.

The pier pilings, which support and stabilize the pier, were damaged during the December 2023 storm in the Myrtle Beach area. Wilson said she understands people will be frustrated that repairs are happening during July, but it’s how the timing worked out.

The end of the pier has been closed since December so the full pier will reopen after repairs. The pier is anticipated to open again around July 15. but it could open later depending on how long construction takes. The pier shop will stay open.

“We’re looking on the other side that it’s good news that people can all walk to the end of the pier again,” Wilson said.
