One person has died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred about 9:07 on Highway 19 and Pleasant View Church Road in Nichols.

One of the drivers was transported to Grand Strand Regional Hospital, where they died from their injuries, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler.

Carrie Davis, 65, of the Lake View area in Dillon County, died at 11:26 a.m. at the hospital, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. Davis died from blunt force trauma, the release said.

One of the vehicles overturned and had lanes of traffic blocked for some time, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.

Davis was operating a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage along Highway 19 when another vehicle crossed left of center and struck the vehicle, Butler said.

That vehicle was a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver of that vehicle was not injured, Butler said.
