82-year-old bicyclist staying in Carolina Forest dies in Valentine’s Day accident
An 82-year-old man has died from injuries he received on Valentine’s Day while riding his bike in the Myrtle Beach area.
John Farr, who was staying in the Carolina Forest area, died when he struck a legally-parked pickup truck with his bicycle, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened about 11:23 a.m. Feb. 14 on Brentford Place near Haven Avenue, according to Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Farr was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center where he died Feb. 19 as a result of his injuries, according to a press release from the coroner’s office.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
