A popular Mexican restaurant has reopened one of its Myrtle Beach locations after being closed for three years.

El Cerro Mexican Bar and Grill at 108 S. Kings Highway opened back up to customers Dec. 5, according to manager Ricardo Garcia. Garcia said the restaurant has received renovations during the time of its closure.

The restaurant is one of eight locations along the Grand Strand, part of a locally-owned chain.

The South Kings Highway location shut down in January 2021. Another Myrtle Beach location on 29th Avenue North also shut down during that time because of COVID-19, but reopened later.

Garcia said the remodeled restaurant has the same menu as the other locations with an updated decor.

So far Garcia said customers have been responsive to the reopened restaurant.

However, the company does not have the location listed on its website.
