Pedestrian struck and killed in Socastee area. Coroner identifies woman who died
A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing S.C. 544 in the Socastee area Tuesday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Nacote Fox, 37, who lived in the Socastee area, died in the accident, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened at 8:27 p.m., according to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt. An SUV was traveling east on the roadway and struck the pedestrian, Bolt said. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the accident in the area of S.C. 544 and Dick Pond Road.
