A new animal hospital is being built in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area.

Located at 974 International Drive, close to Ocean Bay Elementary, construction is underway on the building. A sign next to the work site states the building is the future home of River Oaks Animal Hospital, currently at 4016 River Oaks Drive, close to Tavern In the Forest.

The new site will be 7,600 square feet, according to the animal hospital’s Facebook.

The land itself is owned by Tortoise Shell Investments LLC, according to Horry County Land Records. The company purchased the 2.9 acres of land in 2021 for about $560,000.

Tortoise Shell Investments is a South Carolina business entity whose registered agent is Heather Duncan, who opened River Oaks Animal Hospital in 2014, according to its website.
