Horry County police to host second annual National Night Out

Horry County Police Department officials recently announced a night of fun, free food, games and prizes is set for early August in an effort to strengthen police-community partnership.

The event is called National Night Out and will be the second annual for Horry County police. Department officials announced recently that the event will be held Aug. 4 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the M.L. Brown Public Safety Building at 2560 N. Main Street in Conway.

Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman with Horry County police, said the purpose of the event is to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, and to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and watching.
