Drivers could see traffic delays in North Myrtle Beach starting this week. Here’s where
On Monday, the City of North Myrtle Beach will start rerouting traffic ahead of construction on North Ocean Boulevard, according to a city news release.
The work will occur between 29th and 34th Avenues North in the Cherry Grove community of North Myrtle Beach. Lane closures and detours could continue up to Memorial Day, said North Myrtle Beach spokesperson Lauren Eckersley.
Crews will move utility wires underground, which will reduce the chance of power going out during a hurricane or other severe weather. The city’s press release stated that similar projects have been completed throughout North Myrtle Beach “with positive results.”
