A home along Myrtle Beach’s famed Golden Mile has hit the market carrying a seven-figure price tag, adding to the region’s growing inventory of multi-million houses for sale.

The 6004 N. Ocean Boulevard property with five bedrooms and six bathrooms was listed earlier this week at $3.3 million. As of Oct. 27, 180 homes on the Grand Strand have asking prices of at least $1 million, according to the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors.

“Our market is very strong. Limited inventory but stable, realistic pricing,” said Traci Miles of Century 21, listing agent for the N. Ocean Boulevard home. “If priced right, they’ll sell. The increased interest rates have affected a buyer on the fence.”

Built in 2022, the 3,749-square-foot residence was custom designed and includes ceilings of between nine and eleven feet, a 12-car garage, landscaping that features crepe myrtles ramp access to the beach.

Real estate company Zillow in August forecast U.S. home sales to drop by 17% compared to 2022, with prices rising by 6.5% into next July.

As interest rates sit at near 20-year highs, many homes selling for at least $1 million are insulated from the spike since most are completed without financing.

Thirty-year fixed rate mortgages carried on average 7.57% interest for the week ending Oct. 12, according to Freddie Mac. That’s compared to a 4.9% rate at the same time in 2018.
