Conway police are investigating an alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl that happened at a city-sponsored haunted trail, according to a police report.

Police were dispatched to the Conway Sports and Fitness Center, 1515 Mill Pond Road, about 8:15 p.m. Oct. 21 to a report of an assault. The assault allegedly took place at the Forest of Fear, a haunted trail hosted by the City of Conway Parks and Recreation.

A message left for the parks and recreation director Oct. 25 was not returned.

City spokesperson June Wood confirmed by text Thursday that an assault of a minor volunteer was reported to police. “Staff will continue to monitor the event for the safety of attendees and volunteers,” Wood said.

The police officer determined that an assault had occurred and the girl’s parent was contacted, the report said. No other information about the assault was listed.

Forest of Fear happens from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. This weekend is the last weekend for the event.
