Editor’s Note: Bowers clarified that Reality Link, LLC is not involved in the project. A previous version of this article reported that Reality Links was part of the project and had a presentation for the development.

A new development group wants to re-develop the Inlet Square Mall, which has sat mostly empty for years.

Inlet Square Investments, LLC owns the 450 thousand square foot mall and does have several highly interested clients as potential tenants of the property Paramount Development Corporation Real Estate Manager and Inlet Square, LLC Manager K. Neal Bowers said.

“We are in the process of a redevelopment of Inlet Square, and we have been for some time,” Bowers said in a statement. “Our company has been working on this since at least 2020.”

Bowers could not provide any further details on who those tenants would be or the redevelopment at large. The Belk and Planet Fitness outlets currently open at the Inlet Square Mall are expected to stay following the redevelopment, WMBF News reported and Bowers confirmed.

In previous years, Inlet Square Mall faced controversy over unpaid bills. In August 2018, the former owners of the mall West C Street Holdings, LLC accused the shopping center operators of not paying $90 thousand in rent, The Sun News reported at the time.

But in 2021, West C Street was sued itself for owing $2.8 million to the current owners of the mall Inlet Square Investments, LLC, The Sun News reported.

The case was dismissed in December 2021, according to Horry County Court Records.

Inlet Square Investments purchased the main tract of land the mall sits on for $6 million in February 2023, according to Horry County Land Records.

The mall currently sits mostly unoccupied, but Bowers is optimistic about Inlet Square’s future.

“We hope to make it awesome again,” he added.
