‘I was drawn to go there’: Woman’s scratch-off ticket wins $300K. Here’s how she’ll spend it
A woman’s intuition to stop at a Little River grocery store for a lottery ticket landed her a big win.
The Grand Strand woman bought a $10 scratch-off ticket and uncovered a $300,000 win, according to a press release Thursday from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
The winner told lottery officials that she had a feeling she should stop by the Food Lion on Highway 17 and play the lottery.
“I was drawn to go there,” she explained.
She scratched the ticket while sitting in her car in the grocery store’s parking lot, the release said. She called her husband to tell him the exciting news.
“He asked me to look at the ticket again,” she said.
She did, and the result was the same. The couple plans to invest the winnings, the release said.
