TikTok captures burn-outs, speeding involving police at Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach area
Mustang Week has once again rolled into the Myrtle Beach area.
Those participating have taken to the streets in the Myrtle Beach area to show off their rides. And there’s no shortage of TikTok videos capturing how the week has been so far.
TikTok is full of videos of cars speeding down roadways, revving their engines and doing burn outs while people stand along streets and parking lots to watch them.
Touted as the East Coast’s largest all-Mustang cruise-in, ‘Stangs have been seen from North Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet this week.
Mustang Week continues through Sept. 9, culminating with hundreds of the vehicles on display at the Myrtle Beach Mall, 10177 N. Kings Highway. More than 10,000 people usually attend the week-long even celebrating the famous sports car.
Organizers announced last year that the long-running event wouldn’t return in 2023 after the city officials declined to renew its contract with the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. However, a new location was secured and the event kicked off Sept. 4.
But not everyone is excited about the influx of the vehicles. At least one video shows police in the North Myrtle Beach area pulling vehicles over as they speed down the highway.
Other people posted videos saying they got “pulled” and asking people to help them pay for their speeding ticket.
And others just had fun with the event, as a video shows a person with a GoPro attached to a remote control car, doing burn outs among the burn outs of other vehicles.
