Want to be a Mega Millions billionaire? These stores are winners in Myrtle Beach area
If you’re trying to beat the odds and be the “1” out of 303 million to win Tuesday’s $1.55 billion Mega Millions drawing, you could probably use a little luck on your side.
One strategy could be buying your ticket at one or more of the winningest stores in the Myrtle Beach area.
The South Carolina Education Lottery provided the top 10 stores where winners have claimed $500 or more in Horry County in the last five years for Powerball and Mega Millions.
The Circle K store at 4301 River Oaks Drive leads the pack of lucky stores, recording more than 4 million winning tickets sold.
Here are others:
- Murphy USA, 10826 Kings Road, with more than 3 million winning tickets.
- Kroger, 3735 Renee Drive, in Carolina Forest area, with more than 1 million winning tickets.
- Gators Liquor, 1818 Highway 17 N, Surfside Beach, also with more than 1 million winning tickets.
- Lowes Foods, 111 Pavilion Drive, Little River, with 201,326 winning tickets.
- Food Lion, 3890 S. Kings Highway, with 173,700 winning tickets.
- Refuel, 4584 Highway 17, Murrells Inlet, with 153,000 winning tickets.
- Refuel, 6151 Highway 707, with 152,126 winning tickets.
- Circle K, 9701 N. Kings Highway, with 111,208 winning tickets.
- Main Street Express, 1112 Main St., Conway, with 106,600 winning tickets.
With no winner in the Aug. 4 drawing, Tuesday’s drawing has grown to the largest jackpot in Mega Millions history, according to the Education Lottery.
Tickets are $2 and in South Carolina must be purchased by 10 p.m. for the 11 p.m. drawing.
Tuesday’s jackpot shatters the record previously set by Mega Millions, when a $1.5 billion jackpot was won in Simpsonville, South Carolina, in October of 2018, according to the Education Lottery.
