After nine years as a weekday evening anchor in Myrtle Beach, WBTW’s Meghan Miller is leaving the station.

Miller has accepted a position at Coastal Carolina University as Media and Communication Director of the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance, according to the station.

A WBTW article stated Miller was leaving the station to spend time with family.

Miller joined WBTW in 2014. She graduated from Coastal Carolina University with honors in 2008, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in communication with a minor in journalism, according to WBTW.

WBTW anchor Patsy Kelly has been promoted to replace Miller’s anchoring spots at 5, 5:30 and 5 p.m..

Kelly currently anchors at 9 a.m, noon and 4 p.m. She will continue to solo anchor “News 13 First Edition at 4 p.m,” the station said in a press release.

“We hate to lose Meghan Miller, who who has been an integral part of the WBTW News team, but we’re happy that Patsy Kelly has agreed to fill her position,” WBTW Vice-President and manager Robert Raff said in a release. “Patsy’s experience and track record of community involvement perfectly fit her new role.”
