Update: SC Highway Patrol seek public’s help to identify driver who struck and killed woman

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking the public for help with identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that took place late Friday.

Deandra Goodman, 28, of the Myrtle Beach area, died after being struck by a motor vehicle, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said Sunday.

Police said it happened just before midnight on U.S. Highway 501 near the Intracoastal Waterway.

The incident took place at 11:55 p.m. as she was walking up the Myrtle Beach side of the U.S. 501 bridge in the north bound lane near Waccamaw Pottery area, the coroner’s office said. The victim died as a result of injuries received.

No further details were made available, but officials said the driver left the scene.
