47-year-old dead after crash involving golf cart, tractor-trailer near Highway 19

One person is dead after an accident involving a tractor-trailer and golf cart along Highway 19 on Friday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. in the area of Highway 19 and Adrian Highway, outside of Conway. Horry County Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene.

A 2022 Club Car golf cart was attempting to drive east on Adrian Highway to cross Highway 19 when a 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer collided with it.

The victim — the driver and sole occupant of the golf cart — was identified as 47-year-old Jason Cook of Conway by the Horry County Cororner’s Office.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
