Update: Coroner identifies person who died in single-vehicle crash outside of Conway

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash just outside of Conway during predawn hours on Tuesday.

Travis Shannon, 35, of Conway, died from injuries sustained in the accident, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1:40 a.m. on U.S. Highway 378 near Tampa Lane.

A 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling west on U.S. Highway 378 when it went off the right side of the road and overturned, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, died at the scene.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the driver.
