Update: 88-year-old Garden City man dies in late-night crash involving Harley motorcycle

An 88-year-old pedestrian was identified as the person who died in a crash involving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle Wednesday night.

Two others were injured.

At around 11:08 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was driving south on Highway 17 Business near Woodland Drive Extension. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Thursday afternoon as Claiborne Waller, 88, of Garden City.

The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to the hospital.

SCHP Trooper Nick Pye confirmed Thursday that no arrests have been made. It’s unclear if the driver will face charges.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
