Bikers may be grabbing their umbrellas as there’s a chance of rain and thunderstorms for the Myrtle Beach area this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

A cold front will approach the area leading to some “unsettled weather” Saturday and Sunday, NWS said in a release Friday morning. While no severe weather is expected, thunderstorms are possible.

The front should move into the area Saturday night and stall before moving through late Sunday.

A 40% chance of thunderstorms will start on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The UV index could remain high or very high through the weekend as well, NWS said. Sunscreen is suggested.

Temperatures this weekend are expected to be in the high 70s.
