Coastal Carolina graduate with speeding history charged in deadly crash involving NC bride

A woman charged with killing a bride moments after her wedding reception in Folly Beach was a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a history of traffic violations in Horry County.

Jamie Komoroski, 25, was charged with reckless vehicular homicide and three counts of driving under the influence causing death, according to police reports.

Komoroski was allegedly driving under the influence when she slammed into the back of the golf cart that carried Samantha Miller, 34, of Charlotte, and three others, including the groom on April 28.

Komoroski was traveling 65 mph, reports say. The speed limit on the island is 25 mph.

Komoroski has a history of speeding citations in Horry County dating back to 2018.

In October 2019, Komoroski, who is listed in public records as being from Lebanon, New Jersey, at the time, was charged with speeding 10 mph or less over the speed limit. She was traveling at 67 mph, according to the record.

She was again charged with speeding 10 mph or less over the speed limit in June 2018, and in November 2018, driving a vehicle at greater speed than is reasonably under conditions.

Komoroski is is listed as a logistics account executive in Charleston and a 2020 graduate of Coastal Carolina University on her LinkedIn account.
