A fire was reported at an Ocean Boulevard hotel Wednesday morning that appears to have started in an air conditioning unit in an occupied room, Myrtle Beach Fire Department said.

Crews are still on the scene of the fire that happened at Bar Harbor, 100 S Ocean Blvd., about 8 a.m., according to Lt. Jon Evans with the fire department.

It appears the fire started on the sixth floor of the building.

The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries, Evans said.

A person answering the phone at the hotel said that the hotel is operating as normal.
