With Cinco de Mayo falling on a Friday in 2023, get ready for a day full of tacos, margaritas and fun in Myrtle Beach.

Your only problem finding a Cinco de Mayo celebration in the Myrtle Beach area will be choosing which one, with restaurant specials and parties from Cherry Grove to Broadway at the Beach and from Barefoot Landing to Ocean Boulevard.

Cinco de Mayo (meaning May 5 in Spanish) celebrates Mexico’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day (that is commemorated in September).

While not as popular in Mexico, people all over the United States take the day as an opportunity to enjoy Mexican food and culture.
