Avelo Airlines will begin offering nonstop flights from Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) to Delaware’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), beginning in late June.

It will be the first airline to offer flights between the Grand Strand and Delaware, according to a release sent by the airline Thursday morning.

The Wilmington airport is a “convenient and easy alternative” to the Philadelphia International Airport, the release said.

The nonstop service will begin on June 23 and operate three times weekly on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays. The flights will be on a 189-seat Boeing Next-Generation aircraft.

One-way fares start at $39. Those interested can make reservations at AveloAir.com

“We are excited to announce the expansion of our partnership with Avelo and the addition of new nonstop flights to Wilmington, DE,” Judi Olmstead, director of airports at MYR said in the release. “These flights will undoubtedly be a great addition to our growing list of destinations and further enhance our commitment to providing convenient and affordable travel options for our passengers. We thank Avelo for their continued commitment to serving the Grand Strand.”
